ALISON STANTON
About
Alison trained at the University of Lincoln, completing a master’s degree in the Conservation of Historic Objects.
She went on to gain practical experience in a private textile conservation studio in Lincolnshire, working on a varied range of textile objects encompassing tapestries, ecclesiastical textiles, costume, interior furnishings and bed hangings, including those in the state rooms of Burghley House.
Alison was part of the team that undertook the complex tapestry conservation project at Doddington Hall. All aspects of the process were carried out in public view, interacting with visitors whilst conservation was in progress (find out more about the project here).

Alison became a freelance conservator in 2018, working from her secure studio near Oundle, Northamptonshire.
Comprehensive specialist insurance covers work undertaken both in the studio and on site, providing clients with peace of mind.
